Hei,
Sced LA100A 25. november 2025
Hi Eric,
The summer has now passed and we have had the North Norwegian HamMeeting which we usually have at Pentecost every year.
It is an annual activity where radio amateurs from the three northernmost counties in Norway meet for socializing and discussing our hobby.
This year it was our radio group LA6M that hosted, and we focused on the first contact between the USA and Norway 100 years ago from our area.
Among other things, we had invited the president of NRRL (Norwegian Radio Relay League) to visit.
We last spoke about a sced on November 25, 2025, and we are ready for it from our group QTH which is an old military bunker from the war days that we rent.
Here we have on the antenna front a 4 element beam for 10, 15 and 20 meters.
We also have a Windom-like antenna on 70 meters with 50 and 20 meters of stretch each in its own direction from the feeding point.
I have no idea what it’s called, but according to the «experts» the antenna should work well on all bands.
We will be QRV from there at 12:00 Norwegian time.
That is at 11:00 UTC and will keep the activity up for 6 hours.
Of course it all depends on the conditions, and here in Northern Norway we are sometimes bothered by Eurora stealing our signals.
We have to keep in touch by email if we have to cancel because of that.
We beam stateside and call CQ stateside with the callsign LA100A.
I think the conditions are best on 20 meters, and will use the old frequency that Norwegian radio amateurs in the USA, on Norwegian merchant vessels and Norwegians abroad used many years ago on SSB.
20 meters SSB: 14.320 +/- QRM Primary
20 meters CW: 14.020 +/- QRM
15 meters SSB: 21.120 +/- QRM (depending on conditions)
15 meters CW: 21.020 +/- QRM (depending on conditions)
Maybe we’ll be lucky and get good conditions on other bands too.
We’ll also be QRV on talkgroup 2429 on DMR
If you have other suggestions, we’re open to them.
We look forward to, if possible, getting you in the log on the day in question. That would be great.
I’d love to hear from you about this as soon as possible.
73 de Harald
